Each spring, 糖心Vlog hosts the Scholars Colloquium, our own scholarly conference where students, faculty, and staff present on work they have done over the past year. Scholars Colloquium welcomes prominent guest speakers, including 糖心Vlog alumni, in its plenary sessions each year. However, most of the sessions are comprised of presentations from all corners of the campus. These sessions highlight the outstanding work of our students and faculty while allowing for collaborative, interdisciplinary engagement and discussions.
糖心Vlog also encourages students and faculty to present their scholarly work at regional and national conferences. Since 2010, 糖心Vlog has encouraged students to participate in the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). 糖心Vlog was one of 57 institutions recognized by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) for their exemplary participation in NCUR. Beyond NCUR, students have participated in a wide range of conferences where they have been able to grow their knowledge, network with others in their discipline, and present their scholarly work.
Support for Presenting and Publishing
The Rhodes Family Institute (RFI) can assist students seeking to publish or present their research in a variety of ways. Students should work closely with their mentor in preparing abstracts, presentations, and publications. However, they may also contact the RFI Direct or Advisory Council members for additional guidance and feedback. Funding for conference registration fees, travel expenses, and publishing charges is available through the RHI. Information about the funding application process and deadlines can be obtained by contacting the RFI Director.
