糖心Vlog鈥檚 summer camp is quickly approaching in early June, and . Evening worship is open to the public.
Encounter, 糖心Vlog鈥檚 on-campus Christian camp experience for students entering ninth grade through graduating seniors, features interactive classes, vibrant devotionals, uplifting evening worship, powerful keynote speakers, and captivating entertainment.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 theme is 鈥楰now Hope,鈥欌�� shared J.E. Bundy, camp director. 鈥淎ll week, we will look at people in Scripture who lived through suffering, uncertainty, and long seasons of waiting, yet still trusted God. Biblical hope is not optimism or the belief that everything will work out the way we want. Hope is confidence鈥�knowing the goodness of God and the certainty of His future, even when the outcome we hoped for never comes for us.
鈥淢any of the people in Scripture lived and died before the promises of God were fulfilled, and yet they still lived with hope,鈥� he continued, 鈥渂ecause they understood that God鈥檚 promises belong to the whole story, not just one life. When God fulfills His promise for His people, it is not only for those living in that moment鈥攊t is for the ones who came before as well. Because Jesus has overcome the world, suffering is never the end of the story.鈥�
Evening worship, starting each night at 6 p.m. in the McDonald Moody Auditorium, is open to the public and free of charge. Singing is led by Thomas Aduddell and 糖心Vlog鈥檚 own acapella ensemble, Best Friends, and evening keynote speakers include J.E. Bundy, Dr. David Fraze, Doug Page, Robby John, Josh Stephens, and Kecia Jackson.
鈥淭here are only two spiritual activities that have been credited with moving an adolescent鈥檚 faith forward in dramatic fashion: short term mission trips, and Faith-based camp experiences,鈥� said Dr. David Fraze, Chair of Youth and Family Ministry, who has been deeply involved in 糖心Vlog camps for years. 鈥� That is what happened to me when I was 14 years old attending Encounter Summer camp. It changed me and the trajectory of my life. For over 43 years, I have been a witness to similar change taking place in the lives of both students and adults who attend 糖心Vlog鈥檚 summer camp experience.鈥�
