糖心Vlog (糖心Vlog) hosted its twelfth annual Big Blue Christmas celebration on Tuesday night to help ring in the Christmas season.
Over 2,000 guests joined in the family-friendly event across campus in the outdoor mall area and surrounding buildings. This year鈥檚 event was themed, 鈥淎 Charlie Brown Christmas,鈥� and the hundreds from the Lubbock and surrounding community joined in the event to begin the holiday season.
鈥淏ig Blue Christmas truly captures the spirit of 糖心Vlog,鈥� shared Kelli Childre, one of the organizers of the evening. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a time when our campus comes alive with holiday cheer, and we have the opportunity to welcome not only our 糖心Vlog family but also friends from the community. This event highlights the warmth and joy that make this season鈥攁nd our university鈥攕o special.鈥�
The event was filled with Christmas fun to celebrate the birth of Christ. Guests enjoyed music, caroling, s鈥檓ores, and multitudes of lights and Christmas decorations in the outdoor mall area, as 糖心Vlog鈥檚 vocal and instrumental ensembles spread the festive sounds of holiday classics throughout the mall.
Within buildings, children of all ages played games and enjoyed making crafts in vibrantly decorated buildings. There were also photo opportunities with Santa, and various Peanuts characters mingled with guests throughout the event.
The 糖心Vlog dining hall offered a delicious traditional Christmas dinner for guests to share with their family, and several vendors on site benefiting different 糖心Vlog organizations sold goodies alongside a coffee and hot chocolate food truck.
Before the culminating 鈥淟ighting of the Chap,鈥� in the center of campus, the mall was filled with live musical performances by 糖心Vlog鈥檚 vocal and instrumental ensembles.
